The hotel sits on the corner of Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue at the edge of downtown, which is 20-minute walk away from Distillery District  and five-minute walk away from the biking trail.

STYLE AND CHARACTER

The Broadview is hit with creative travellers who wants to be close to downtown but still enjoy a local experience in a cool and trendy party of the city.

The hotel was built in 1891 by a serial entrepreneur, Archibald Dingman. They’ve only got 58 boutique rooms at the hotel that is designed to make you feel completely at home. The history of the building is a mix of time periods that was incorporated into the design and construction. Each space has a different feel – modern but reflective of the 125 – year story without focusing on any particular era.

It’s such a charming hotel! Think of floral wallpaper, gold fixtures and vintage pieces.

Every floor had a piece I wanted just to grab off the wall and take home.

Even their staircase had a unique vibe…

SPACIOUS ROOMS

I absolutely adored my room at the Broadview hotel which featured large European king bed (and leather-covered headboards with clever pop-out reading lights), black-out blinds, marble showers, vinyl record player, fully-stocked mini bar with locally sourced goods, french press coffee in the morning, free Wi-Fi and a luxe but livable feel. Some rooms have an outdoor terrace for lounging and relaxing.

The smallest room out of 58 is 325 square feet, while the corner suite is 700 square feet with two walls of windows. I think the corner suite is one of my favourite rooms ( they also call it “honeymoon” suite ) and it could be a perfect place for your romantic gateway or for Valentine’s Day 🙂

The Broadview Hotel King Suite

Starting at 325 square feet, these rooms feature a sitting area with sofa that converts into double size bed and a Eurotop king bed, luxury linens, custom, locally crafted bathroom amenities and blackout blinds. Rooms are fully outfitted with a multi-purpose table suitable for working and dining, a 40” TV, central control lighting, and individual temperature control. We offer full room service, evening turn-down, a business centre, complimentary Wi-Fi and complimentary tea and coffee. Rooms feature a vinyl record player and an exciting minibar offering fully stocked with our favourite locally sourced goods. All of our rooms feature curated artwork and unique architectural details ensuring each room has individual character. Some of these rooms connect to make a family suite.

THE ROOFTOP BAR

There is a rooftop bar which serves cocktails and small plates seven days a week with the stunning views of the Toronto skyline that you’d be forgiven for forgetting that it also has guest rooms – gorgeous ones, at that. And the fact that the Broadview revitalized one of the city’s historic properties (which, for decades, was home to a boarding house and a strip club) is the icing on the red-brick cake.

The rooftop bar has a very cozy vibe and most probably the best spot for sunset photos

FOOD AND DRINK

The pink neon-lit circular bar of the Cafe + Bar off the lobby is a hit for pre-dinner or after-work drinks and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Broadview Breakfast features a satisfying pork-laced potato hash.

Main-floor restaurant The Civic is a destination in itself, the chefs giving a contemporary twist to dishes taken from historical menu. Expect retro items like chops, lobster a l’Americaine and braised rabbit.

The atmosphere is dark and moody, and just so perfect for me.

What an incredible experience I had and it was all thanks to the Broadview hotel!
