Happy Sunday!!! Weekends always are too short, especially for me….But it’s ok 🙂 I am going to Europe next Friday!!! YAY!!!
So excited, I promise I will keep you updated, will try to blog, post some outfits pictures, and of course some make-up tips!!!
But for today I wanted to fill you in on a new makeup trend “Strobing”. Such a funny word, don’t you think so? But apparently it’s such a big and popular thing in North America and in Hollywood.
If you’ve ever thought about contouring your face but then decided, “eh, that seems like a bit too much effort,” then strobing is the perfect solution for you.
What is it?
While contouring is the concept of using makeup shades that are both lighter and darker than your skin tone to make your features recede and pop, strobing focuses exclusively on highlighting.
In other words, when strobing you can ditch your darker shades and simply apply highlighter where the light would naturally hit your face (think cheekbones, brow bones, down your nose, in the center of your forehead and on your cupid’s bow).
How do you do it?
To strobe, start by applying a dewy concealer (or liquid highlighter) that’s two shade lighter than your skin tone on the areas of your face where light would naturally hit. Blend in thoroughly for a subtle look, then set your concealer with pressed powder.
Next, lightly apply a highlighter to the same areas you just applied concealer. Keep in mind that the goal is to highlight places you’d like to draw the eye to, and the results should be subtle not too glimmering.
What product do you need?
1.”Candelight Glow” by Too Faced
2. Benefit Watt’s Up! Highlighter $30, Benefit Cosmetics or high beam face highlighter, $ 30 or by MAC Mineralize Skinfinish
Would you try strobing or are you more of a contouring fan? I would love to hear your thoughts on the trend below!
